It is found in Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Its natural habitats are moist savanna, caves, and subterranean habitats (other than caves). It is threatened by habitat loss.
